In 2006, Professor Sarker was a co-recipient of the Stafford Beer Medal from the Operational Research Society (United Kingdom) for work on virtual teamwork published in European Journal of Information Systems. He has earned teaching awards at both the undergraduate and graduate levels at Washington State University. In August 2016, the University of Jyväskylä (Finland) conferred on Professor Sarker an honorary doctorate; in December 2017, he was named a Fellow of the Association for Information Systems (AIS); and in April 2018, he was named Distinguished Alumnus of Operations, Business Analytics, and Information Systems Department, University of Cincinnati, where he completed his Ph.D. studies in 1997. In 2022, Copenhagen Business School (Denmark) conferred on him an honorary doctorate, his second.

In 2020, he served as program co-chair of the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), the leading academic conference in the information systems discipline. He will serve as conference co-chair of ICIS in 2023. In 2021, Suprateek was elected President-Elect of the Association for Information Systems (AIS), the primary global organization of information systems academics, with members in over 100 countries. He is now the Immediate Past President, having completed his term as President.

Professional Activities

Dr. J.J. Po-An Hsieh is an associate professor in the Department of Computer Information Systems, as well as a research associate in the Center of Digital Innovation, at the Robinson College of Business, Georgia State University (alma mater). He is the recipient of the Association of Information Systems (AIS) Mid-Career Award in 2023. He was also voted by the Master of Science Information System (MSIS) students as recipient of the Top Professor 2017 Teaching Award. He is now serving as (1) the guest Association Editor (AE) for Journal of Management Information Systems – Special Issue on Metaverse and (2) the Senior Editor (SE) for the Pacific Asia Journal of the Association for Information Systems. He has also served as the AE for Information Systems Research (2019-2024), MIS Quarterly (2011-2014, two terms), MIS Quarterly – Special Issue on Managing AI (2019-2020), and for Decision Support Systems – Special Issue on Omnichannel Business (2016-2017), as well as an editorial review board member of the Journal of the Association for Information Systems (2018-2019) which is ranked the 4th journal in the IS field. He received the Information Systems Research 2022 Associate Editor Award - a prestigious recognition for his editorial contributions to this premier outlet. He has further served as one of the three panel members from the world to oversee competitive annual grant applications in the IS area for Hong Kong Research Grant Council (akin to NSF in the US) for three consecutive terms (2014-2019). Before joining GSU, he was a professor of MIS in the Department of Management and Marketing, as well as the director of the flagship Doctor Business Administration (DBA) and Doctor of Business Management (DMgt) programs in Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

His current research and teaching interests include Future Work with Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Internet-of-Everything (IoE); Data Analytic Systems & Capabilities; Digital, Mobile, & Service Innovation; and Effective, Innovative, and Infusion Use of IT. He has years of professional experience in digital commerce and high-tech. He has also provided consulting services for leading organizations in sectors like telecom, high-tech, and financial service, as well as governmental and research institutes.

Dr. Hsieh has published in premier journals across different disciplines, such as MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Management Science, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management Information Systems among others. His paper titled “Addressing Digital Inequality for the Socio-economically Disadvantaged through Government Initiatives: Forms for Capital that Affect ICT Utilization”, published in Information Systems Research, has received the 2012 Annual Best Published Journal Paper Award by the Organization Communication and Information Systems (OCIS) division of the Academy of Management (AOM). This was awarded by the OCIS committee after reviewing IS papers published in premier journals in 2011 – an esteemed recognition among the worldwide IS community. His work “Converting Expertise Dissimilarity to Creativity: Impacts of Team TMS and Geographical Dispersion” received the 2016 Best Paper Award 1st Runner Up in the Academy of Management Annual Conference. This paper was also nominated for the Carolyn Dexter Award, representing the OCIS division. He is the recipient of both the 2014 Faculty of Business Fellow Award and 2010 Faculty Award for Outstanding Achievement in Research at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His paper “Extracting Business Value from IT: A Sensemaking Perspective of Post-Adoptive Use” was nominated for 2011 Annual Best Paper Award by Management Science. Dr. Hsinchun Chen graduated with a BS degree from the National Chiao-Tong University (Taiwan), MBA from SUNY Buffalo, and an MS and Ph.D. from New York University. He is a University of Arizona Regents' Professor and the Thomas R. Brown Chair Professor in Management and Technology. He is also a Fellow of ACM, IEEE and AAAS. He received the IEEE Computer Society Technical Achievement Award in 2006, the INFORMS Design Science Award in 2008, the AIS Impact Award in 2020, and the IEEE Big Data Security Pioneer Award in 2022. He was also recognized in the INFORMS Information Systems Society (ISS) Nunamaker-Chen Dissertation Award (NCDA). The NCDA is named in honor of two University of Arizona professors, Jay Nunamaker and Hsinchun Chen, who have made significant contributions to the field of Information Systems over the past several decades. Dr. Chen had graduated 36 Ph.D. students over the past 30+ years, most of them placed at peer Research I institutions. Three of his Ph.D. students won the prestigious ICIS ACM SIGMIS Doctoral Dissertation Award (Z. Huang 2005, S. Samtani 2019, R. Ebrahimi 2021). Dr. Chen served as the lead Program Director of the Smart and Connected Health (SCH) Program at the NSF for 2014-2015, a multi-year multi-agency health IT research program of in the U.S. He is author/editor of 20+ books, 320+ SCI journal articles, and 220+ refereed conference articles covering artificial intelligence, digital library, data/text/web mining, business analytics, security informatics, and health informatics. His overall h-index is 105 (47,000+ citations for 600+ papers according to Google Scholar), among the highest in MIS and top 50 in computer science. Dr. Chen founded the Artificial Intelligence Lab at The University of Arizona in 1989, which has received $60M+ research funding from NSF, NIH, NLM, DOD, DOJ, CIA, DHS, and other agencies (100+ grants, 50+ from NSF, as PI). He has served as Editor-in-Chief, Senior Editor or AE of major ACM/IEEE (ACM TMIS, ACM TOIS, IEEE IS, IEEE SMC), MIS (MISQ, DSS) and Springer (JASIST) journals and conference/program chair of major ACM/IEEE/MIS conferences in digital library (ACM/IEEE JCDL, ICADL), information systems (ICIS), security informatics (IEEE ISI), and health informatics (ICSH). He is also a successful IT entrepreneur. His COPLINK/i2 system for security analytics was commercialized in 2000 and acquired by IBM as its leading government analytics product in 2011. The COPLINK/i2 system is in use in 5,000+ law enforcement jurisdictions and intelligence agencies in the U.S. and Europe, making significant contribution to public safety worldwide. Dr. Chen has served as an advisor to major federal research programs and was a Scientific Counselor of the National Library of Medicine (USA), National Library of China, and Academia Sinica (Taiwan). He is a visiting chair professor at several major universities in China (Tsinghua University) and Taiwan (National Taiwan University). He is internationally renowned for leading research and development in the health analytics (data and text mining; health big data; DiabeticLink and SilverLink) and security informatics (counter terrorism and cyber security analytics; security big data; COPLINK, Dark Web, Hacker Web, and AZSecure) communities. His recent research includes SilverLink for mobile health and AZSecure for advanced cyber threat intelligence. Dr. Chen is director of the UA AZSecure Cybersecurity Program, with $15M+ funding from NSF SFS, SaTC, and CICI programs and CAE-CD/CAE-R cybersecurity designations from NSA/DHS. Led by SFS CyberCorps graduate students (G. Greer and R. Reyes), the Arizona Pen Testing teams placed #5 in 2020 and #4 in 2021 in the highly competitive National Cyber League competition (10,000+ students from 500+ universities). Professional Activities

Robert Davison joined the Department of Information Systems in July 1992 where he is currently a Professor. Professionally, Robert serves as the Editor-in-Chief of both the Information Systems Journal and the Electronic Journal of Information Systems in Developing Countries. He is also the Chair of the IFIP WG 9.4 The Implications of Information and Digital Technologies for Development. In 2019, he was recognised as a 'Fellow of the AIS'. Robert holds/has held visiting professor appointments at Loughborough University, the University of Sydney and the University of New South Wales. His current research focuses on applications of Action Research to knowledge exchange activities and guanxi in Chinese organisations. Christy M.K. Cheung currently holds the position of Chair Professor in Information Systems and Digital Innovation Management at Hong Kong Baptist University, where also serves as the Director of the Research Office. She is the awardee of the prestigious RGC Senior Research Fellow (研資局高級研究學者) and obtained HK$7.8 million over a period of 60 months. Throughout her career, Christy has been involved in numerous research projects, serving as the Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator for over 25 research grants. These grants include prestigious funding sources such as the General Research Fund, UGC Additional Funding for Teaching and Learning Related Initiatives, Joint Research Fund from the National Natural Science Foundation of China among others. The total funding secured by Christy for these projects exceeds HK$12 million.

Christy’s research interests revolve around IT and User Behaviors, Social Media and Electronic Commerce, and IT and Societal Implications. She has made significant contributions to the field, with over 200 refereed articles in esteemed international journals and conference proceedings. Her work has been featured in prominent publications such as European Journal of Information Systems, Information Systems Journal, Information Systems Research, Journal of Information Technology, Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, MIS Quarterly, and many others. Recognized for the quality and impact of her research, Christy has received several prestigious awards, including the Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence (2007; 2016), and the Best Paper Awards at International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS 2003). Her research has garnered significant attention, with over 30,000 citations on Google Scholar and over 10,000 citations on Web of Science. She boasts an impressive h-index of 74 and an i-10 index of 134. Christy has also ranked among the World’s Top 2 percent scholars in the field of Information Systems, currently holding the 29th position out of approximately 18,000 scientists. Notably, she is the top-ranked female scientist in the field of information systems. In 2020, two of her articles were listed as “Hot Paper” and seven others were listed as “Highly Cited Papers” in Essential Science Indicators (ESI).

Christy has also assumed various academic leadership roles. She has been serving as the Editor-in-Chief of Internet Research since 2016, successfully elevating the journal from AJG Level 2 to Level 3 in 2021. Additionally, she has held Senior Editor and Associate Editor positions for several major IS journals, including Information Systems Journal, Information Systems Research, Journal of Association Information Systems, and others. Professor Patrick Chau is Provost and Chair Professor in Information Systems and Business Analytics at UIC. Professor Chau received his PhD in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario, Canada. He was elected President of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) in 2021-2022. AIS is the premier academic society in the Information Systems discipline with over 5000 members from close to 100 countries around the world. He was the first and only scholar from China elected to this presidency since the establishment of AIS in 1994. Professor Chau was appointed “Chang Jiang Scholars Programme” Chair Professorship by the Ministry of Education in 2010. He has also held Padma and Hari Harilela Professorship in Strategic Information Management at The University of Hong Kong, Qiushi Chair Professorship at Zhejiang University and Lee Dak Sum Chair Professor in Information Systems and Operations Management at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China. He received AIS Fellow Award in 2013, an honour from AIS extended only to a very small number of scholars in the discipline of Information Systems globally each year.

He conducts research in IT adoption and electronic commerce and has more than 100 papers published in prestigious journals in the Information Systems discipline. He has been on Elsevier’s List of Top 2% Scientists worldwide since its first release. As of August 2023, his Google Scholar citations exceed 27,400 with an H-index of 62 and, in Scopus, more than 11,700 with an h-index of 43. He is Emeritus Editor-in-Chief of Information and Management, an A* journal in the Australia’s ABDC Journal List and a Level 3 journal in the UK’s ABS Journal List. Under his editorship, the 2-year impact factor of the Journal has grown from 1.84 in 2014 to 10.33 in 2021. Christopher C. Yang is a professor in the College of Computing and Informatics at Drexel University. He also has a courtesy appointment at the School of Biomedical Engineering, Science, and Health Systems. He is currently on leave and serving as the program director in the Division of Intelligent and Information Systems (IIS), Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE), National Science Foundation. Before his leave, he was the Founding Director of Data Science Programs and the Program Director of MS in Health Informatics. Professional Activities

Dr. Xin (Robert) Luo is an Endowed Dean's Professor of Research Excellence and tenured Black, Albert & Mary Jane Full Professor of Management Information Systems at the Robert O. Anderson School of Management of The University of New Mexico (UNM) in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. He also serves as the Special Assistant to the Dean for Research Advancement and the Director of International Programs at the Anderson School of Management. He is ranked No.8 worldwide for publication in the top 6 MIS journals, including ISR, MISQ, JMIS, JAIS, EJIS, and ISJ, for 2021-2023. Additionally, he has been listed in the Top 2% Global Scientists list published by Stanford University and Elsevier.

His research interests center around behavioral information systems security management, privacy protection, E-commerce/M-commerce, social commerce, innovative technologies (e.g., blockchain, artificial intelligence vs. human interactions, cloud computing, green IS, e-healthcare, social network, etc.) for strategic decision-making and development, and cross-cultural IT management. Before joining academia, he had worked as business associate, web project manager, assistant director, and senior web developer in China and USA. He has received grants from NSA and NSF.

He received his Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from Mississippi State University. His doctoral dissertation chair was Dr. J.P. Shim, and his dissertation title was "An Empirical Investigation of User’s Trust and Trying toward Mobile Banking Adoption in Cross-cultural Settings: An Analysis of U.S. and Chinese Users." The other dissertation committees members were Dr. Kirk Arnett, Dr. Merrill Warkentin, Dr. Robert Otondo, Dr. Joe Sullivan, and Dr. Jianzhong Xu. He received his MBA from The University of Louisiana and MSIS in Information Systems from Mississippi State University.

He now is a Co-Editor in Cheif for International Journal of Accounting and Information Management (SCIMago Q1, impact factor 4.2), ad-hoc Associate Editor for MIS Quarterly, Associate Editor for Journal of the Association for Information Systems (January 2021 - now), Decision Sciences (April 2015 - now), European Journal of Information Systems(2013- 12/2020), Information & Management (January 2020 - now), Electronic Commerce Research (August 2014 - now), Journal of Eletronic Commerce Research(August 2013 - now), Journal of Intellectual Capital (January 2020 - now), and International Conference on Information Systems. He also sits on the Editorial Review Board of Information Systems Research, and serves as a Senior Editor for Organizational Cyberseuciryt Jurnal: Practice, Process and People.
